Reference: The White Peacock Painting

Continuing on with my trend of leucistic animals, I thought I'd share a painting I've kept in my browser for a couple weeks. I stare at it every time I start a painting, hoping to glean just a little of the intricate technique and skill of the 1600's Dutch painter, Jan Weenix.

One of my favourite styles of painting are 1600-1700 Dutch painters, of which their subjects were frequently deceased game. While a little morbid, this painting in particular is just so perfectly executed that it bares a close up look. You can see a higher resolution version here.
